فدرل بجٹ پر ہونے والی ڈیڈلوک کے بعد وفاقی حکومت اور اس کے اتحادی پارٹی پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے درمیان کامیاب مذاکرات کے بعد وفاقی بجٹ کی تقریب 10 جون کو منعقد ہونے کی راہ ہو گئی ہے۔
A deadlock over the federal budget has been resolved after successful negotiations between the government and its coalition partner, the Pakistan Peoples Party, paving the way for the presentation of the federal budget on June 10.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a government team led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held successful talks with a PPP delegation in Islamabad. Following the discussions, both sides agreed on a set of proposals, which have been forwarded to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for final consideration. The meeting included detailed consultations on the economic targets and key fiscal matters proposed for the federal budget for the 2026-27 financial year.
Participants also reviewed priorities relating to current and development expenditure, including allocations under the Public Sector Development Programme . Broader issues concerning fiscal stability, public welfare initiatives and development projects were also discussed, alongside strategies aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. According to participants, there was unanimous agreement to recommend that the federal budget for the next fiscal year be presented on June 10, ending uncertainty surrounding the budget timetable.
The consultation was attended by senior PPP leaders, including Murad Ali Shah, Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman and Saleem Mandviwalla. Also present were Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa. Senior economic officials also participated in the discussions, including Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal and Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial.
The consultations form part of the government's ongoing engagement with coalition partners as it finalises economic priorities and spending plans ahead of the announcement of the federal budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
