ISLAMABAD: A list of 19 names for the appointment of 4 additional judges in the Islamabad High Court has been forwarded to the Judicial Commission.
The list includes 3 District Sessions Judges and one Additional Sessions Judge. The names forwarded include Additional Sessions Judge Hamayun Dilawar, Sessions Judge Raja Javad Abbas, Sessions Judge Azam Khan, and Shah Rukh Arjumand. The list also contains the names of Advocates Adnan Basharat, Qamar Hussain, Umar Aslam, Inam Ameen Munhas, Usman Ghani, and Rashid Cheema.
In addition, the names of Advocate General Islamabad Ayaz Shaukat, Advocate Adnan Haider, Nadir Biyan Majeed, Sultan Mazhar Sher Khan, Kashif Ali Malik, and Daniyal Ejaz are also included. Furthermore, Shahid Mehmood Khokhar, Babar Bilal, Mohammad Abdul Rafi, and Hafeezullah Yaqoob are part of the list.
It is important to mention that in August 2023, Judge Hamayun Dilawar of Islamabad’s District and Sessions Court sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case. Following this, the PTI Chairman was arrested from Lahore and moved to Attock Jail.
