ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the 26th Constitutional Amendment passed by the parliament with two thirds majority will prove to be a milestone for economic and political stability and development of the country.
He mentioned that the draft of the constitutional amendment was adopted after extensive deliberations with political parties, including those in the opposition. He said the amendment is reflective of the entire spirit of consultation. Voicing serious concerns over the relentless Israeli atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon, the Prime Minister called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the bloodshed of innocent people.
He directed the authorities concerned to formulate a comprehensive strategy on an emergency basis to completely eradicate polio from the country.During the meeting, the Federal Cabinet, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Human Rights, approved forwarding “The Domestic Violence Bill, 2024” to the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases.
