Environmental Protection Department has sealed five industrial units and closed four shopping units for violating environmental laws in Shadra and at Band Road Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

During the operation, as many as 670 vehicles were inspected and 160 challans were issued and Rs320000 fine has been imposed for spreading pollution. In this regard, 25 AQI monitoring units have been established to continuously monitor air pollution levels and work continued on the target of 60. Strict action against vehicles emitting smoke, surveillance of sand and material transport is underway.
