NAB ShahidKhaqanAbbasi

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau on Thursday opposed plea seeking bail of former minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in liquefied natural gas scandal.

The anti-corruption watch-dog submitted a reply comprising 24 pages in the court while in its written reply the NAB said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also deceived cabinet by hiding facts and telling more consumption and conspired to install more LNG terminals by favoring companies of their choice. The NAB informed that the Shahid Khaqan Abbasi grounded the basis of installing more LNG terminals by telling a daily consumption of 1200 cubic feet in the country aiming to favor the companies of their choice by granting the contracts.

The NAB said that the management of the LNG was given to the Intra-State Gas Company instead of Sui Southern Gas Company while another terminal was established in a haste while the LNG prices shot up by the cost of terminal.During the hearing on former prime minister’s bail petition in Islamabad High Court , the anti-corruption watchdog told that a reference against Abbasi has already been filed in the accountability court and he didn’t deserve a bail in the case.
