Acting president Gilani endorses five-year tenure of service chiefs
ISLAMABAD – Acting President Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday signed the bill paving the way for the extension of tenure of services chiefs to five years.
The acting president also signed the Practice and Procedure Bill. Besides, he gave assent to the bills providing for increase in the number of Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court judges.On Monday, the National Assembly and Senate passed the key bills including those envisaging increase in the number of Supreme Court and IHC judges, and extension to the tenure of services chiefs.
