Iran FM warns any attack on Beirut will trigger 'full-scale resumption of war'Beijing expresses concern over the evolving situation in the Middle East: Chinese foreign ministry urges all sides to maintain dialogue and diplomatic engagementChina has expressed concern over the situation in the Middle East and urged both the United States and Iran to maintain the existing ceasefire, warning that a return to conflict would serve the interests of no party, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China said Beijing was closely monitoring developments in the region and remained concerned about the potential consequences of renewed hostilities. The spokesperson stressed that another war would not benefit any side and called on all parties to exercise restraint at a time of heightened tensions.
China also urged the countries involved to pursue political and diplomatic solutions rather than military confrontation, emphasising the importance of dialogue in resolving disputes and preventing further instability. The foreign ministry called on all parties to respect the ceasefire arrangement and continue efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability in the region. Beijing further appealed for the continuation of negotiations, saying sustained diplomatic engagement remained the most effective path towards addressing differences and avoiding a wider conflict.
China's statement comes amid ongoing international efforts to maintain calm in the Middle East and encourage dialogue between regional and global stakeholders.
