Pakistan will also not tour India and its matches will be played at neutral venues
DUBAI – The Indian team will play the Champions Trophy at a neutral venue, an agreement has been reached between the ICC and the cricket boards of the member countries of the game’s governing body.
According to a foreign cricket website, the Indian team will play its matches at a neutral venue chosen by the Pakistan Cricket Board . Under this model, only India’s matches in the eight-team tournament will be played at a location other than Pakistan. Media reports said that all ICC events until 2027 will be played under the hybrid model. During this period, Pakistan will also not tour India and its matches in all events hosted by India will be played at neutral venues.
According to the report, Pakistan will host another ICC event after four years. The ICC has also awarded Pakistan the hosting rights for the 2028 Women's T20 World Cup. This formula could be applied to the Women's T20 World Cup.International Cricket Council , Pakistan Cricket Board and Board of Control for Cricket in India have reached an in-principle agreement to adopt the hybrid model for global tournaments being hosted in Pakistan or India until 2027.
