Residents of Karachi, Sindh’s bustling port city, are enduring an extended cold wave, with temperatures dipping into single digits
once again.
The mercury in the metropolis was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius, coupled with 41% humidity and northwestern winds blowing at 8 km/h. This is the second time this month that Karachi’s temperature has fallen below 10°C.Earlier this week, the Met Office had warned of intermittent strong winds in the city, with temperatures expected to drop by 3°C to 4°C at night in southeastern Sindh.
Additionally, the upper and central regions of Sindh are predicted to experience temperatures 3°C to 5°C lower than usual.While Karachi is feeling the chill, other parts of the country are also experiencing colder than usual weather. In Balochistan, Quetta’s temperature dropped to -4°C, with other areas like Kalat at -5°C, Nokundi at 1°C, and Sibi at 3°C. Gwadar and Jiwani recorded temperatures of 8°C, while Turbat’s mercury hit 9°C.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar recorded a low of 1°C with partially cloudy skies and 92% humidity. The ongoing cold wave continues to affect various regions, causing a noticeable dip in temperatures.
