Maryam Nawaz announces increase in stipend for interns from Rs25,000 to Rs60,000 a monthLAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday underscored the need to engage in climate diplomacy with India.
However, with the rising impact of environmental degradation, the government was now fully aware of its importance, she said. She noted that practical steps, rather than empty promises, were being taken to address various issues including environment protection issues. "The government plans to introduce 28 electric buses by December and implement solar-powered charging stations," she said. She also mentioned that tougher regulations were being imposed on vehicle owners to improve air quality.
