Dutch economy minister pushes for European chip industry coalition
ROME - The Dutch economy minister said on Thursday he wants to form a European Union "coalition of the willing" to strengthen their domestic computer chip industries and remain competitive with the US and China.
"To have a stronger EU, between the other global players, to get leverage, it's important to work together," Beljaarts said. Although the Netherlands has the world's 18th largest economy and is not a G7 member, Beljaarts was invited to the meeting on technology policy.
