The focus was on assessing Karachi’s current heatwave preparedness and exploring proactive solutions to ensure the city remains resilient during extreme heat conditions.
Journalist and environmental activist Afia Salam, speaking at the conference, highlighted that a heatwave plan for Ahmedabad, India, involved Pakistani analysts, and a similar plan for Karachi remains unimplemented.She emphasized the importance of activating this plan, which includes detailed response protocols and institutional involvement.
