FBR imposes heavy duties on imported items like mobiles, cars, soap, and makeup, impacting prices and market dynamics in Pakistan.
On the first day of the implementation of the annual budget 2024-25 on Monday, July 1, the Federal Board of Revenu imposes heavy regulatory duties on dozens of imported items including mobile phones , cars, soap, makeup, dental pastes, hair colours, pencils, and sports equipment.
Pencils, perfumes, and toothbrushes are subject to a 20% duty while makeup items, beauty and skincare preparations now have a 55% regulatory duty. 20 per cent duty on imported LED bulbs and 10 per cent duty on imported clothing for children, men, and women has been fixed.
