Islamabad: Minister for Power Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari has said the government is determined to bring about improvement in power sector in order to extend maximum relief to residential and industrial consumers.
Talking to a private television channel, he said steps have been taken to remove flaws in the power sector.The Minister said the Power Ministry is analyzing the actual generation of power plants and consumption of energy in summer and winter seasons. In reply to a question, he said, the matters of Independent power producers and capacity payment would be addressed soon.
Commenting on Electric Distribution Companies , he said some companies are being privatized in the first phase while steps for rest of the DISCOs are to be taken in the second and third phases.
