ISLAMABAD: The Grand Opposition Alliance, formed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other major opposition parties, has announced an anti-government movement after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Additionally, Jamaat-e-Islami has hinted at joining the opposition alliance, with its representative Liaquat Baloch stating that the party will make a final decision after the approval of the Majlis Shura. The Grand Opposition Alliance intends to organize public gatherings in various parts of the country to protest against what they deem as ‘massive’ electoral rigging.
Insiders familiar with the matter revealed that efforts will be made to include the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl , led by Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, in the opposition movement against the government.BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal has been assigned the responsibility to contact Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and the Jiye Sindh Party.
Earlier in the day, a meeting was held among six major opposition parties, including PTI, to discuss the formation of the ‘grand opposition alliance’ to challenge the government.
