A security review prompted by deadly attacks by separatist militants in Balochistan in August delayed the airport’s opening to the end of this year.
According to the statement, the Gwadar International Airport has obtained necessary certifications from the Pakistan Airports Authority. Additionally, personnel from the Airports Security Force, Pakistan Customs, Anti-Narcotics Force, Federal Investigation Agency and Border Health Services have been deployed at the airport.
