Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, against disrupting law and order in the wake of the approaching Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Naqvi accused Gandapur of orchestrating unrest and potentially aiming to sabotage the summit by leading a mob to storm Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi , in a press briefing at D-Chowk on Saturday, warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership headed by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur not to disrupt law and order situation ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
“Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur is leading a mob with the intent to storm Islamabad. He is fully responsible for the current situation,” Naqvi said, emphasising Gandapur’s role in orchestrating unrest. “The government is unclear about PTI’s specific demands, but it seems their real aim is to sabotage the SCO summit,” Naqvi remarked. He added that dialogue could only happen if Gandapur showed seriousness, stating, “Dialogue is not possible alongside attempts to storm the capital.”
