According to a statement issued on Wednesday, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, alleged that Kuwait and Bahrain were directly implicated in the US attacks on Iranian targets. Baghaei said the American strikes constituted a violation of the ceasefire agreement and warned that Iran would respond forcefully to any future attacks. He also condemned what he described as attacks on an oil tanker and on Iran's Qeshm Island, claiming that a telecommunications tower on the island had been targeted.
Meanwhile, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, renewed criticism of the United States, arguing that Washington preferred military force over diplomacy. In a post on X, he said recent events had shown that the United States understood"the language of missiles" more readily than diplomatic engagement. Rezaei also paid tribute to Iran's armed forces, praising their resistance against what he described as hostile actions and commending their efforts in defending the country's interests.
In a separate statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that any future aggression against Iran would be met with an even stronger response. The organisation said it had previously cautioned that hostile actions would draw harsher retaliation and asserted that recent countermeasures should serve as a warning to the United States. The IRGC further stated that any attempt to undermine security and stability in the Strait of Hormuz would carry significant consequences.
The waterway remains one of the world's most important routes for global energy shipments and has frequently been at the centre of regional security concerns.
