The International Cricket Council has expressed confidence in the Pakistan Cricket Board’s preparations for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, as reported by a local news channel.reassured ICC board members that renovation work at the three proposed venues will be completed before the tournament kicks off.
During the final day of the ICC meeting, Naqvi presented a detailed report highlighting the progress made in preparation for the highly anticipated event, scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.The final match is set for March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. To showcase their readiness, the PCB Chairman invited ICC members to visit Pakistan to witness the preparations firsthand.
In addition to discussing the Champions Trophy, the ICC board deliberated on possible changes to the tenure of the ICC Chair and Independent Director positions, proposing terms of two to three years, subject to ICC membership approval. The meeting also saw new appointments, with Scott Vennink named as the Full Members’ representative on the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee and Scott Edwards appointed as the Associate Members’ representative. Dr. John MacLean replaced Dr. Roger Hawkes on the ICC Medical Advisory Committee.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will feature eight teams. Pakistan is placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B consists of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
