Razia Muzaffar – a resident of Islamabad – had earlier moved the SHC with a plea that she should be awarded her rightful share in the inheritance worth millions of rupees left behind the deceased famous singer-turned-na’at khawan.
She mentioned in her petition that she had tied the knot with Junaid on October 20, 2009. However, the children of his first wife were occupying all the properties and denying her the legal share after obtaining a succession certificate from the court by concealing the fact about her heirship, Razia added.
During the hearing, a single-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi issued notices to the parties involved in the matter for September 2 and said the assets could neither be sold nor transferred till the verdict on the petition. Junaid and his first wife were among the 42 people who had died when an ATR plane operated by the national flag carrier PIA crashed near Havelian on December 7, 2016.
