The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Apex Committee, chaired by CM Ali Amin Gandapur, has resolved to demolish all bunkers erected by warring tribes in Kurram district. The decision aims to restore peace in the region marred by ongoing tribal clashes that have claimed over 200 lives since July. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured full support from the Federation, emphasizing the importance of disarmament and removal of private bunkers for lasting peace.

In order to quell the violence, the KP government has shut down key roads in and out of the district to check the violence after a security escort travelling along residents was ambushed in November, resulting in deaths of 40 travellers. The committee recognized the importance of continued dialogue with local residents to facilitate the return of weapons.

On Friday, Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chief Minister's Office in Peshawar, where he was warmly received by Ali Amin Gandapur.
