Says seminaries must be registered; Criticises hurdles being created in path of national progressSindh Governor Kamran Tessori has emphasised the need for madaris registration and urged Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Group Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to adopt a constructive approach on the issue.
The seminar, titled"The Role of Accountability in Better Governance," was attended by NAB Karachi DG Javed Akbar Riaz, Arts Council President, and other dignitaries. It is worth mentioning that speaking at public rallies in Nowshera and Peshawar over the weekend, Maulana Fazl said seminaries are being unfairly targeted under the guise of modern education reforms.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman alleged that while seminaries agreed to registration during the previous Pakistan Democratic Movement government, the government and international establishment are now pushing seminaries towards extremism.
