KARACHI: Under the Community Policing Karachi (CPK) project, Karachi police will equip mobile units with Automatic Number Plate
KARACHI: Under the Community Policing Karachi project, Karachi police will equip mobile units with Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras, enabling real-time vehicle identification and tracking.
Social activist and Community Police Karachi Chief Murad Soni stated that authorities have already installed ANPR cameras at various locations, including Defence, New Sabzi Mandi, Azizabad, and Soldier Bazaar, as well as in 16 police stations across Karachi. Authorities have also merged ANPR system data with Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell records to ensure real-time reporting and efficient crime tracking.By introducing ANPR cameras in police mobiles, law enforcement aims to significantly reduce vehicle theft and snatching incidents in Karachi.During the current year, more than 41,800 children in Karachi were denied...
