Mexican drug lord 'El Mayo' Zambada says he was ambushed in new account of US arrest
MEXICO CITY - Mexican drug lord Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada was tricked by the son of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman and forced to board a plane bound for the United States last month, he said in a statement on Saturday.
Zambada said he followed Guzman Lopez, "trusting the nature of the meeting and the people involved," and was led into a dark room. Guzman Lopez bound Zambada with zip ties to a seat and the plane left for the United States carrying just the two men and the pilot, Zambada said.
