KARACHI: National Database & Registration Authority Sindh, in collaboration with the provincial government, has established diagnostic Desk of Thalassemia Prevention and Hepatitis at two centers in the city.
While speaking to the media, DG NADRA Sindh stated that in the first phase, Thalassemia desks are being set up at Korangi and Big NRC in Safoora, and the scope will be expanded to other centers as needed. He mentioned that through these desks at NADRA centers, free testing for Thalassemia and other blood diseases, including Hepatitis A, B, and C, will be possible with the support of the Sindh government and Muhammadi Blood Bank.
He further added that nearly 500,000 people visit NADRA centers across Karachi and Sindh for the renewal of national identity cards and other matters. If we can convince the individuals visiting NADRA centers to get tested for Thalassemia, it would be a significant achievement.On this occasion, Secretary Blood Transfusion Dr.
