In a major development in the Lahore Electric Supply Company overbilling scandal, the Information and Technology department deliberately removed the meter reading dates from bills, extending the billing period to over 30 days.
The sources said the date box was eliminated from the electricity bills, leaving only the month displayed. The sources further said that without the specified date, LESCO consumers could not estimate their meter readings accurately, and they paid extra.
