Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq is presiding over the joint session of the Parliament.The President of Pakistan is elected through an indirect election where an electoral college comprising members of the Senate, National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies elect the President. Voting is held through a secret ballot.
