A petition against the defamation law was filed in the Lahore High Court by journalist Jaffar Ahmed Yar and citizen Raja Riaz.It should be noted that the Defamation Bill 2024 passed by the Punjab Assembly has become a formal law after the signing of Acting Governor Malik Ahmed Khan last night. President Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari condemned the approval of Defamation Bill by the Acting Governor Punjab and said that the Pakistan People’s Party also cheated the journalists.He said the PPP was with the journalists from the top but was mixed with the government from the inside and the governor. The bill was approved by sending him on leave.Defamation Bill 2024 Bill will apply to print, electronic and social media, defamation case can be filed on false, untrue news spread.
