Pakistan Airlines’ Pilots Association (PALPA) has rejected a 17 percent salary increase offered by PIA management, demanding parity with private airline pilots. PALPA argues that while the basic salary increase after nine years is appreciated, allowances, including flying allowance, remain unchanged. They highlight that in 2016, PIA pilots were earning 50 percent less than international airline pilots and emphasize the need for fair compensation to ensure safety and efficiency in flight operations. PALPA urges the PIA administration to address the salary disparity and appeal to authorities for approval of salaries at par with private airline pilots, warning that inaction could negatively impact the restoration of international flight operations.

Pakistan Airlines’ Pilots Association on Tuesday rejected 17 percent increase in their salaries by the PIA management and demanded to enhance their pays as per pilots of private airlines, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PALPA said that in 2016 their salaries were increased while PIA pilots were being paid 50 percent less salaries as compared with the salaries of international airlines pilots. They urged PIA administration to take effective and practical measures to solve the issue of salaries enhancement.
