PIA privatization delay announced, pushing the process to September due to ongoing financial and administrative challenges.
The ongoing privatization of state-owned Pakistan International Airlines has been delayed by another two months and was now expected to be completed in September, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
They disclosed that the bidders wanted an explanation for the ban imposed on the national flag carrier’s flights to different destinations in Europe, including the UK. It had earlier been reported that the government wanted to complete the entity’s privatization by August 14.The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Privatization was told on Monday that the financial adviser had suggested the sale of 51 per cent to 100 per cent shares in the Pakistan International Airlines , whose privatization had started on June 7, 2024.
