Federal Cabinet has approved the formation of an inquiry commission to investigate the allegations raised in a letter written by six judges of the Islamabad High Court.
The Federal Cabinet, Chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also approved that the newly formed commission will be headed by retired Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.
The Federal Cabinet also approved the Commission's terms of reference, which will outline the scope and direction of the investigation. During the meeting, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also urged his cabinet members to immediately commence work towards achieving the targets set in a five-year roadmap as shared with all the relevant ministries.
He said the Ministries concerned should evolve mechanism, hire human resources and formulate strategies to meet the set targets.
