PML-N review petition filed in Supreme Court against reserved seats verdict, challenging the recent decision.
July 15, 2024 03:26 PMThe ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has challenged the Supreme Court’s verdict declaring PTI as eligible to allocation of reserved seats , reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its peal, the PML-N argued that the PTI was not even a party in the case as it was Sunni Ittehad Council which approached the Supreme Court. Earlier, PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi flayed the court decision, stating that the PTI was not even a party in the case but was granted undue relief. Abbasi questioned the constant reinterpretation of the Constitution, which he claimed favoured PTI.
He pointed out that the Election Commission of Pakistan only withdrew the party’s electoral symbol due to a failure to conduct intra-party elections, and not because it dissolved the party.
