The Lahore deputy commissioner has decided to grant permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally in Lahore in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Official sources said the Lahore administration was considering PTI's request to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, adding that the administration granted permission to the party to hold a rally at Jallo Park instead of Minar-e-Pakistan.Earlier, the Lahore High Court ordered the Lahore deputy commissioner to decide on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s request for a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan by 5pm today.
A three-member full court, comprising Justice Farooq Haider, heard the PTI’s petition seeking permission for the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. The Punjab chief secretary and inspector general of police appeared in the court.The Advocate General Punjab did not appear before the court. The government’s lawyer said that the Advocate General Punjab was busy in the Supreme Court when the full court inquired about his absence.
The Punjab government’s lawyer opposed the requests of the PTI, saying that Aliya Hamza and Imtiaz Sheikh have not written any letter for the permission of the rally, and the request of Aliya Hamza should be rejected as inadmissible.
