The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to launch an inquiry to ascertain why some of the party members of the parliament were not in contact with their seniors ahead of voting on the 26It has been learned that even those MPs, who did not vote for the government-sponsored amendments, but had lost contact with the party’s high command, are now under the scanner.
Those who will face the inquiry are Senator Saifullah Abro, Senator Zarqa Taimoor, Senator Faisal Salim, MNAs Zain Qureshi, Riaz Fatyana, Aslam Ghumman and Khawaja Shiraz. The PTI decided to initiate a probe after Zain Qureshi gave a statement shortly before voting in the parliament started. Initially, the party rejected his statement.The committee will submit its report to the former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail.
