Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced major protest, as province’s Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other leaders rallied supporters.
The ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf , announced a major protest for November, as the province’s Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other leaders rallied supporters in Swabi.
Thousands of PTI supporters gathered in Swabi on Saturday, demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been in jail since August last year. In his speech, PTI Chairman Gohar Khan assured supporters that the party would continue efforts to secure Khan’s release through legal means.
He emphasized that PTI would not seek help from foreign countries like the U.S., as Pakistan is an independent nation capable of making its own decisions. PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram explained that Swabi was chosen for the rally to allow people from both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab to easily participate.During the event, Gohar Khan announced that PTI, together with the Sunni Ittehad Council, would challenge the 26th Constitutional Amendment in the Supreme Court. Gohar, a lawyer, argued that the amendment was intended to control the judiciary and expressed hope that the Supreme Court would overturn it.
