International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Mission representative Mahir Binici met Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad on Thursday. During the meeting, the finance minister assured the IMF representative that Pakistan is committed to completing the loan programme.

During the meeting, the finance minister assured the IMF representative that Pakistan is committed to completing the loan programme. He said the IMF loan programme is in face a programme designed by Pakistan itself. He said that Pakistan will continue the journey of economic revival that was started 14 months ago.
On this occasion, Aurangzeb congratulated Binici on assuming the charge and assured him of full support in carrying out his official responsibilities and a smooth day-to-day consultation with the government of Pakistan. Binici reciprocated the sentiment and vowed to work closely with Pakistan to ensure successful completion of the IMF programme.
Separately, speaking at an even in Islamabad, Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government's commitment to the economic reforms agenda. He said the government will continue to focus on facilitating the private sector in order to boost the economy of the country. He emphasized the need to bring everyone into the mainstream and ensure their contribution to the economy.
