Pak Army, Sindh govt launch field hospital in a single day in Karachi
The unique hospital has been prepared at Expo Centre, Karachi. The Karachi commissioner visited the 1,100-bed field hospital.
In a message, DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar had said that the Pak Army is extending help in quarantine where it is required. “Pakistan Rangers are assisting the civil institutions to deal with the epidemic,” he added. He said that they had devised a crises and risk management strategy to curb coronavirus. “Medical facilities of the armed forces will also be utilized in case of any emergency,” he added.
The DG ISPR said that medical facilities of the three armed forces have been geared up. “Pak Army scientists are in the field to prepare face masks and sanitizers. Moreover, a National Command and Control Centre has been established,” he added. Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said that difficulties in data collection would be overcome soon. He stressed the need for collective and individual role in combating coronavirus. “Public messages are being sent in coordination with the mobile companies. Public contact is vital in the communication strategy,” he added.
