Different parts of the country, including Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh, were lashed by heavy monsoon rains on Tuesday, which not only inundated low-lying areas but also main roads, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.The situation was pathetic on MA Jinnah and other roads where motorcycles and cars stopped due to which the journeys which normally took minutes to complete now took hours.
As per the statistics updated at 8:00 in the morning, Quaidabad locality of the city received the highest amount of rainfall, totaling 52 millimeters followed by Gulshan-e-Hadeed where 46 millimeters of rain was recorded.Likewise, Nazimabad, Surjani Town, Sharai Faisal, Keamari, University Road, Korangi, Saddar, Old Airport, Gulshan-e-Memar, Jinnah Terminal, Bin Qasim, DHA, Orangi Town and Maripur received 26, 25.4, 16, 16, 15.6, 14.6, 13, 12.6, 12.4, 11.
Heavy rains were also reported from Islamabad, several cities of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Gujranwala and Kalar Syedan.On the other hand, the weather department said that different parts of the country would continue to receive rain during the next three to four days.
