ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall across various parts of the country starting tomorrow, as westerly winds are expected to enter the upper regions, intensifying cold conditions nationwide.

According to the advisory, mountainous areas such as Hunza, Skardu, Neelum, Chitral, Malakand, and Abbottabad are likely to experience rain and snowfall until December 14. Rain is also expected in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Gujranwala, and Lahore during this period. The department has warned of a significant temperature drop between December 8 and 14, with mercury levels expected to fall six degrees below normal in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In Baluchistan, temperatures may decrease by five to seven degrees below the seasonal average.

Hazy conditions, along with cold winds, are also expected to affect the plains of Punjab and Baluchistan.
