Lahore police encounter ends in the death of rape and dacoity accused, raising debates on justice in Pakistan.
A proclaimed offender was killed following an encounter with the police in Nishtar Colony, Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Police said they were taking Abdur Rehman, who was wanted in connection with the rape of a girl during dacoity at Chungi Amer Sidhu, for recovery when his accomplices attacked the police van. When the girl’s mother tried to save her daughter, Abdur Rehman killed both of them and made away with Rs500,000 cash.On the other hand, police in Lahore arrested a sub-inspector and Hafiz Zahid and Constable Tariq, deputed at Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station, after registering a case against them on the complaint of a citizen.The Force said that the citizen then recognized both police personnel while they were patrolling the area, and complained to the SP Iqbal Town.
