To help commuters save money after a recent drop in petrol prices, the Islamabad District Administration has announced lower public transport fares.
The Sindh government has decided to give interest-free loans to students of the agricultural University Tando Jam.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, along with transport unions, decided to cut fares after detailed discussions. For trips longer than 30 kilometers, fares will be reduced by Rs 10. To make sure everyone knows about the new fares and to prevent overcharging, all public transport vehicles must display the updated fare charts on their front screens. The Deputy Commissioner warned that any vehicle not following the new fares will face serious penalties. Starting tomorrow, assistant commissioners will monitor to ensure the new fares are being applied.
This decision aims to provide immediate financial relief to daily commuters and shows the administration’s commitment to responsive governance. By working closely with transport unions and enforcing the new fares, the administration wants to make public transport more affordable and clear for everyone.
