ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf challenging the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

An 8-member constitutional bench, led by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will hear more than 20 petitions contesting the amendment. The bench will also include Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan.

The proceedings will be held in Courtroom No. 2, with stringent access restrictions. Only relevant parties and journalists with special entry passes will be allowed entry, and mobile phones will be strictly prohibited inside the courtroom. In a notification issued by the Supreme Court, it was confirmed that enhanced security measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the proceedings and to facilitate the parties involved.
