Commenting on the suspension of internet services by the government to thwart the PTI’s plan to march on Islamabad, the Interior Ministry on Sunday said that mobile data and Wi-Fi services would be suspended only in those areas where there would be security concerns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“However, these services will be available in the rest of the country as per routine,” the spokesman added. Earlier, it was reported in the media that internet services had been suspended in different cities of Punjab such as Lahore and Faisalabad. People in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad did not have access to these services either due to which they could not log on to Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and other apps.
It is worth-reminding here that Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, in a statement, had said that cellphone and internet services would remain suspended in the twin cities on November 24.
