In another incident, woman shot dead
RAHIM YAR KHAN - Police claimed to have taken out a hardcore robber in Rahim Yar Khan Katcha area operation, Dunya News reported here on Monday.
A spokesman for Punjab police said the suspected bandit indentified as Mukhtar was involved in dozens of cases of abduction for ransom. He would kidnap people through honey-trap. He said police carried out an operation on secret information that some outlaws were present in village Saeed Abbasi, adjacent to the border of Sindh.
Police claimed the suspect was killed in the firing of his own accomplices during an exchange of fire with police commodes.Bohng DSP, In-charge CIA and Bohng SHO took part in the operation. Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar and DPO Rizwan Umar praised the police team and said the Punjab police were determined to eliminate robbers of Katcha area.A woman was shot dead over a domestic issue in Liaquatabad of Model Town area.
The deceased identified as Kiran Shahzadi was the mother of three children. She was murdered by her cousin when she asked the hand of the daughter of the murderer for her brother.
