Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Syed Owais Qadir Shah has been elected as the 12th Speaker of Sindh Assembly, while Anthony Naveed of PPP has been sworn in as the deputy Speaker. Shah secured 111 votes out of 147, defeating MQM's nominated candidate Sofia Shah. In his address, Shah expressed his honor to be elected as the Speaker of the Assembly with a rich history.

Deputy Speaker Anthony Naveed secured 111 votes.

Punjab Assembly session to witness swearing-in ceremony of newly elected membersPunjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman has formally issued a notification calling for the inaugural session of the Punjab Assembly session today at 10am. The assembly session will witness the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected members. Punjab Assembly speaker Sabtain Khan will administer the oath to the newly elected members. It is also expected that voting for the new Punjab Assembly speaker, Deputy Speaker and Punjab Chief Minister will take place at the assembly after the oath taking ceremony.
