ISLAMABAD - Supreme Court of Pakistan will resume hearing of the case pertaining to Sunni Ittehad Council’s reserved seats today , Dunya News reported.
If the party concerned had not the list of its candidates for reserved seats of women or minorities then there would be effects, he remarked. Justice Athar Minallah said that it would be different case if Hamid Raza were proved to be a candidate of the SIC, and that it was an admitted fact that all the PTI candidates were declared as independent. The chief justice remarked that neither the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf nor any of its elected representative were respondents in the case. As the case before the court was that of the SIC for specific seats, then why the case which was not before them was being discussed, he asked.
Justice Ayesha Malik remarked that the reserved seats could be given only on the principle of proportional representation.
