Federal Minister for law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar has said that the sitting parliament focusing on Tax reforms has passed its first law which is about Tax reforms.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore the Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said the law aims to address the long-standing issue of RS 2700 billion of the government stuck in tax refunds and appeals.
Law Minister also said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken the responsibility to reform the tribunal system, appeal process, and subsequent reference judgments to facilitate the country's economy and national interests. The Minister said under this law, the prime minister has decided to surrender all his powers and make appointments through open competition.
He also said this legislation marks a significant step towards transparency and accountability in the country's tax system, paving the way for economic growth and development.
