September 12, 2024 11:30 PMUniversity of Management and Technology Markhors beat the Lake City Panthers by 160 runs in the opening match of the Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Thursday. In pursuit of a mammoth total, the Panthers had a torrid start as they finished the first powerplay with the scorecard reading 52-6.
Amad Butt , batting at eight, stitched a 59-run seventh-wicket partnership with Mubasir Khan and a 59-run eighth-wicket partnership with Usama Mir but all in vain as they were bundled out for 187 in 34.5 overs. Earlier, after being asked to bat first, the Markhors opening batters Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Faizan put on 38 runs before Mubasir Khan removed former and tall Mohammad Zeeshan removed latter in the ninth and 14th overs, respectively.
