LAHORE - The State Bank of Pakistan has announced the winners of its art competition for new banknote designs, with women taking the lead.
In the competition, women designed the best notes for denominations of 10, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 rupees, while men designed the 20 and 50 rupee notes.The second-place design for the 500 rupee note was also created by a female artist, while the second-place designs for the 10 and 5000 rupee notes were by male artists.
Dr. Sherry Abidi won first place for the 10 rupee note, while Mirza Sufyan took second place for the same denomination.
