The Muntinlupa city hall will undergo computer and communication system upgrade as part of the Smart City vision.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon revealed that the city's Management Information Systems office successfully developed, tested, and demonstrated various computerized systems to speed up processes and build up a database to facilitate online transactions.
In addition, the Muntinlupa City Council recently approved Resolution No. 2023-271, which authorizes Biazon to enter into a contract with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Enterprise for the upgrading of the city hall's existing telecoms systems to Session Initiated Protocol trunklines and adoption of TCloud Plus structured cabling for an improved private automatic branch exchange system.
One of the processes recently presented to Biazon involved online application permits from the Office of the Building Official and the Assessor’s Office. At present, the city has the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop which was recently hailed by the Anti-Red Tape Authority as a model for other cities and municipalities to follow.
